Pupils visited Eden Camp, near Malton in North Yorkshire, to learn about the World Wars. They were taken back in time as they experienced the sights, sounds, and stories of wartime Britain. The award-winning museum, which is set within an authentic World War II Prisoner of War camp, is made up of 22 exhibition huts. Pupils travelled through the huts and learned about many topics including; the home front, the blitz, women at war, life in the trenches, prisoners of war and many other interesting facts.

Ghyll Head Outdoor Education and Activity Centre is based in the heart of the Lake District National Park. Pupils enjoyed a three day residential stay at Ghyll Head. They participated in many activities such as; zip wire, canoeing, ghyll scrambling, hill walking, ropes course, team building, fire tent and many more fun activities.

Pupils attended a workshop at the Industrial Museum to learn about the Second World War. When Britain and France declared war on Germany after Hitler had refused to stop his invasion of Poland. World War II was fought between the Axis Powers (Germany, Italy, Japan) and the Allied Powers (Britain, United States, Soviet Union, France). Most of the countries in the world were involved in some way. It was the deadliest war in all of human history with around 70 million people killed. During the workshop our pupils learned that even Bradford was bombed during the war.

Year 2 pupils visited All Saints Church in Little Horton to learn about the Christmas story also known as the Nativity.

Pupils attended a workshop at Cliffe Castle to get an overview of the period from the Stone Age to the Iron Age in Britain and to evaluate some of the major changes during this time. Pupils explored how lifestyles evolved during the Stone, Bronze and Iron Ages, looking at the factors that led to Stone Age hunter-gatherers settling into early farming communities and how these settlements in turn developed further into the Iron Age. During the workshop they also looked at Roman, Victorian and present day objects.
