Waterstones: Pupils from across the school who completed their ‘raving readers’ visited Waterstones bookshop. They were rewarded for their excellent participation in the scheme. Pupils chose a book for themselves to take home.

Pupils spent the morning at Cartwright Hall Art Gallery learning about Pop Art. They looked at some artwork by the famous Andy Warhol and later made their own amazing pieces.

All Saints Church: Bradford: Year 4 Beech:
All Saints Horton is a fine Victorian inner-city parish church built in 1864, by local Landowner and MP Sir Francis Sharp-Powell of Horton Hall. In 1976 the church was re-ordered with a nave altar, a relocated font and parish rooms.

Cartwright Hall: Year 5: Early Islamic Civilisation:
Using artwork and artefacts pupils learned and explored the historic origins of Early Islamic civilisation, its influences and contribution to world culture.
Through activities including traditional calligraphy and building Baghdad, pupils gained insight into this culturally significant civilisation.

Tropical World: Year 4:
Tropical World is a butterfly house and animal attraction located in Leeds, West Yorkshire. It is a licensed zoo which also features the largest collection of tropical plants outside Kew Gardens.

Thackray Museum of Medicine: Florence Nightingale workshop: Year 2:
Pupils from Year Two went on a journey of discovery to explore the incredible world of medicine at the Thackray Medical Museum. The Museum is one of the largest medical museums in the UK; it is housed in the old Leeds Union Workhouse.
During the visit to the museum pupils participated in a Florence Nightingale Workshop. The workshop was led by Miss Nightingale herself (costumed actress). Miss Nightingale told the children about her life and her work as a Nurse during the Crimean War. They joined Miss Nightingale on an exciting journey to the Crimea. They explored the horrors of wartime hospitals before Florence Nightingale. They embarked on a thrilling journey to a Scutari hospital ward where they got to see how conditions improved and helped a poor wounded soldier. They spent the rest of the day exploring the museum and learning about the history of medicine.

Bolling Hall Museum: Great Fire of London workshop: Year 1:
Bolling Hall is one of the oldest buildings in Bradford, West Yorkshire, England. It is currently used as a museum and education centre. Pupils used the historic room settings at Bolling Hall to explore what houses were like in 1666 and worked in groups to create their own scenes of the Great Fire.
